Dean's Upholstery reupholsters sofas, chairs, ottomans, dining sets and other furniture for homeowners in Vacaville and the surrounding communities. When the frame of a piece is still solid but the fabric is worn, stained, faded or simply out of style, reupholstery gives it a second life instead of sending good furniture to the landfill.
Every project starts the same way: send photos through the online quote form, tell us what you have in mind, and we reply with a free estimate within one business day.
What reupholstery includes
Reupholstering a piece is more than stretching new fabric over the old. The existing cover comes off so the inside of the piece can be checked. Worn foam and padding can be replaced at the same time, which is often what makes an older sofa or chair comfortable to sit in again. The new cover is then cut, sewn and fitted to the piece.
Your quote is itemized, so fabric, foam and padding, and labor appear as separate lines. You can see where the money goes before you decide anything.

Not sure whether your piece is a good candidate? Send photos and ask. There is no charge for the estimate.
Choosing your fabric
Fabric has the biggest effect on how the finished piece looks and wears. We work with Charlotte Fabrics, whose catalog includes solids, patterns, vinyls and outdoor fabrics. You can browse their selection online and order free memo samples from their website, so you can see and feel a fabric at home before committing. We also provide fabric swatches to help you compare colors and finishes, and leather is available as well.
Is reupholstery worth it?
Reupholstery makes the most sense for furniture you already like: a sofa that fits the room, a chair that has been in the family, or a well-built frame that would be costly to replace with something of the same quality. You keep the shape and size you know works, and you choose exactly the fabric you want rather than picking from whatever a showroom has in stock.
How pricing works
The cost of reupholstery depends on the size and construction of the piece, the fabric you choose, and whether foam, padding or repairs are needed. That is why every piece is quoted individually.
Photo-based quotes are preliminary estimates. Final pricing is confirmed after an in-person inspection, and if anything beyond what the photos showed is needed, you receive an updated quote for approval. No work begins without your approval. A deposit may be required before work starts.
