Dean's Upholstery makes custom-fitted slipcovers for sofas, chairs and other furniture in Vacaville and the surrounding area. A slipcover is a made-to-measure fabric cover that goes over your existing furniture, protecting it and giving it a fresh look without full reupholstery.
Send photos of the piece through the quote form and you will have a free estimate within one business day.
Why choose a slipcover
- Protect furniture you care about from everyday wear
- Change the look of a room without replacing the furniture in it
- Cover fabric that is worn or dated when the piece underneath is still comfortable
Made to measure, not off the shelf
Ready-made slipcovers are sized to fit many different shapes loosely. A custom slipcover is cut and sewn for one specific piece, so it follows the arms, back and cushions of your furniture instead of bunching up or sliding around. The result looks tailored, closer to upholstery than to a throw.
Slipcover or reupholstery?
A slipcover covers the piece as it is. It does not change the foam, the padding or the frame. If the cushions have gone flat or the piece needs repair, reupholstery or restoration is the better route, and foam and padding can be replaced as part of that work.
If you are not sure which you need, send photos and describe how the piece feels to sit in. We can tell you which option makes more sense for your furniture when we send the estimate.
Choosing fabric for a slipcover
The fabric decides how a slipcover looks, drapes and holds up. We work with Charlotte Fabrics, whose catalog includes solids, patterns and outdoor fabrics. Browse online and order free memo samples from their website to see a fabric in your own room, in your own light, before you commit. We also provide fabric swatches to help you compare options.
How pricing works
The price of a slipcover depends on the size and shape of the piece, the number of cushions and the fabric you choose, so each one is quoted individually.
Quotes from photos are preliminary estimates. Final pricing is confirmed after an in-person inspection, and no work begins without your approval. A deposit may be required before work starts.
What to send for an accurate estimate
- Photos of the whole piece from the front, side and back
- A close-up of the arms and any skirt or trim
- How many loose seat and back cushions it has
- Any fabric you already have in mind
